The Roland HD-1 V-Drums Lite is similar to Rock Band except this drum tutor actually helps you learn the drums. The HD-1 Drum Tutor connects to a PC with an included USB-MIDI interface. It’s got an easy to follow notation screen with a bouncing ball to notify where you should be while reading the music. Now if you don’t believe this will be enjoyable, there’s even a tetris-type game that lets you try to rack up points depending on your drum score.

Price of DT-HD1 Drum Tutor software (available in March): about $75

Price of the HD-1 V-Drums Lite (available now): about $800.

We haven’t seen a new design in Sony’s PSP for years, but this new design shows an interesting example of what the future could look like. This mock-up was designed to have two thumb sticks, a camera, and a OLED display that stiffens when powered up. An interesting design that would give Sony the rights to the largest display in the portable gaming world. My only problem with this is that the buttons are missing, besides the L and R on the backside, and it seems hard to hold. With a few modifiactions, this could be a serious contender the Sony should look at for their PSP 2.
